How effective is washing my hands with antibacterial soap and cold water, instead of hot water?

You couldn't stand water hot enough to kill germs, so cold is fine. Plain soap is fine too, because it's the friction and rinsing that removes most of the germs. Plain soap, cold water, and a hand sanitizer containing alcohol afterward would be my recommendation.How effective is washing my hands with antibacterial soap and cold water, instead of hot water?

temperature of water does not effect bacteria removal action of soap.
If its a good antibacterial product no difference shall be between cold and hot water, I have worked in a hospital, we scrubbed with either but I must admit i did use warm water being a bit of a softy
antibacterial soap has been proven to be no better at killing germs and bacteria than using regular soap. Germs and bacteria are more likely to be found in warm water. Cold water suppresses them from living in that environment.





Same reason you don't want to drink warm tap water, especially if you drink it from the shower head.
How effective does it need to be??? If you are doing surgery, then do the hot water. Cooking food = hot water. Getting newspaper ink off your fingers = cold water.
hot water is better it loosen your skin like your ';pores'; or you skin to allow maximum bacteria to be cleaned, killed, and rinsed away same goes for the face your pores tighten when cold
it's still effective, but the hot water has a better chance of killing more germs than cold water...just like cooking food. if you leave meat cold...there's more bacteria than if you cook it...same rule applies for washing your hands. but it really doesn't matter much when it comes down to it in the end
unless the water is boiling hot there is no difference.
