What is considered overuse of antibacterial soap on hands?

Hi, I was just wondering what is considered overuse of antibacterial soap on hands each day? I probably use it around 5-10 times throughout the day but I am thinking of changing to a non anti one since I've been hearing that it's actually doing us more harm. Does it kill our good germs permanently? Can my good germs still come back?

Lee im sixty years old. Growing up we got dirty, and cleaned up without the use of antibacterial soap, and made it this far just fine. Today's society is setting themselves up for more trouble by not allowing common germs to be on our skin. We weren't born into a sterile world for a reason. There's a time and purpose for everything, and we as humans tend to over do it with a lot of things don't you think? Eventually the germ will become more and more resistant to the stuff we have. That's why MERSA is a problem today. It's time to get back to the basics of life. Good Luck! SteveWhat is considered overuse of antibacterial soap on hands?
it depends on how much u over use it:D
check out articles on WEBMD. i just read today in a WEBMD magazine that the antibacterial soap is pretty much a joke, that it does no better than regular soap, unles its high powered, like the kind in hospitals. ALSO, i had a doppler scan today for blood clots in my legs, and i asked the technition about it, since the article intregiued me. She said a 30 second hand wash with a mild soap, is all thats necessary for not spreading germs. I LOVE to cook, so i wash my hands probably 5 - 10 times just when im preparing a meal.. tons more than that in a day, so i wouldnt worry about ';overuse'; unless your drinking it or something.. i think you should be fine!
