Why do they say the best defense against swine flu is washing your hands with antibacterial soap?

Doesn't antibacterial soap just kill bacteria? The flu is a virus. Why do they say the best defense against swine flu is washing your hands with antibacterial soap?
lol. Its funny how some people think. antibacterial soap is actually bad for you, it kills off the good bacteria that you need which fights off the bad bacteria. Why do they say the best defense against swine flu is washing your hands with antibacterial soap?
Yeah, it kills bacteria, but it also washes off the virus. The reason it is a good thing is because if you touch something or somebody and get live virus on you, then, if you touch your eyes, nose, or mouth then you will have put the virus exactly where it wants to be to start growing inside you and give you a flu infection. So the more you wash your hands (to a point of course) the less likely you will be to get the flu. You can inhale sneezes too so it doesn't completely protect you though...
washing your hands kills viruses and bacteria and it doesn't matter if you use antibacterial soap or regular soap. just wash your hands. period. oh, and try not to touch your nose, mouth or eyes, because no amount of washing will kill everything.
