Eczema on your hands - soap advice!?

Does anyone know of any soaps that can be used, without eczema flaring up everytime you wash your hands?

At the moment im using fairy, and its being a bugger!Eczema on your hands - soap advice!?
Both me and my sister have had eczema since we were little and any kind of ';soap'; will cause it to flair up. It got so bad that we ended up going to a skin specialist and he prescribed a creme that works wonders(if you use it regularly). My advice to you is to go to a skin specialist and after you wash your hands(or shower) use a good moisturizer (every-time!).

Try to keep your hands out of water as much as you can or avoid it by wearing gloves when washing dishes/cleaning or whenever you can. Its not really the soap thats causing the irritation because when it comes to eczema WATER is the enemy.

Also do you ever wake up in the middle of the night and your hands are itching like crazy? I run hot water(hottest you can stand) over my hands(it feels sooo good) and after that the itching goes away i dry them then moisturize.

I hope this helps, good luck!Eczema on your hands - soap advice!?
If your referring to doing the dishes, you should wear washing up gloves, you can get ones for sensitive skin. Or even Nitrile washing up gloves which are rubber and latex free (sometimes rubber can irritate eczema) many people are allergic.

For general hand soap, try using actual 'soap FREE' products, and moisturise directly after washing your hands.

For all skin washing, body including hands you need to use soap free cleansers; try Oilatum shower gel for shower and always moisturise, including your hands after contact with water. Soaps and detergents will irritate eczema.
well i have eczema so i can kinda relate to the question.. it takes time to find out what kinda soaps dont irritate your skin, but try to look for one that isnt scented that usually works the best, or has very little scent. Also if you have really bad eczema try to apply lotion on your hands whenever you get a chance or creams such as 'aquaphor, eucerin etc.'
Fairy use a gentle gel soap in a pump bottle which is made for sensitive skin and dry your hands properly, and then put loads of handcream everytime. Wash the dishes using rubber gloves lined with cotton and do all household chores which involve water wearing gloves. Even plain water will dry out hands
like a hand soap?. Try using a brand called 'simple' they dont add any alcohol or perfume to their products so its kind on skin. also remember to make sure its washed off properly and that you dry your hands really well.. also wash your hands in warm water.. not freezing cold as it can make them worse..

if that doesnt work try a baby soap.. even like a johnsons no more tears type as that is super kind to skin..

Eczema on your hands-soap advice?

answer- try baby soap.

also try '; polysporin '; its a healing cream .

also try '; cortizone'; cream.

they are all sold over the counter.

good luck.
Find a soap specially formulated for sensitive skin. Dove probaly do one, as will a lot of other brands. Ideally find one without too many colourings, fragances or alcohol.
Get Cetaphil Soap. It also comes in moisturizing cream. Its for sensitive eczema skin. It's perfect.
I use Dial the foaming antibacteral one, I find all the foam ones are ok because they rinse so clean. Also Aveeno daily hand cream really helps sometimes I mix it with a bit of cortizone cream.
My husband uses some soap from Bath and Body Works. It's Dr. Bigelow or something like that. They also offer a hand salve that works really well for him. Hope this helps!
We use aqueous cream - only 拢2/3 for a big tub. Best to avoid any soap.
talk to a dermatologist
Dove soap, thats what all teh doctors are saying to use
wear gloves or use the utterly smooth lotion
the good kind
Go to your local health food shop and ask them for their natural soaps which are made from all natural ingredients instead of petroleum based ingredients. Use gloves when you are washing up. Then to help your eczema take some flax oil every day. A tablespoon mixed with some yogurt. Stir it into your favourite flavour and you won't taste it at all. that will help in a few weeks. Another thing is that you might have a food allergy that is causing your eczema. The most common are dairy (milk and cream etc) or wheat. You could try cutting these out of your diet to see if it makes a difference.

Good Luck

Dirt is removed when you wash the soap from hands with water.

Are all hand soaps antibacterial?

No regular soap has no disinfecting quality's. Soap is an emulsifier. It brakes cohesion of grease and oil type molecules so they don't stick together basically. That is why it soap makes washing greasy dishes easier. To be a disinfectant it has to have an additive. In the bottle hand soap that is usually alcohol.

Is it unhealthy to wash hands with only water and no soap?

If your hands are really dirty or oily, then I suggest washing your hands with soap. Water alone does not work at all! It cannot cut through dirt and oil like soap can. However, you should try to minimize the times you wash your hands with soap because you do not want to increase your exposure to toxins. Remember, our skin is the largest organ of our body and it absorbs up to 60% of the products we put on it. Considering that the conventional hand soaps available in the market today are packed with chemicals and toxic ingredients, this is not a pretty picture. Just to clarify, these ingredients are considered ';toxic'; not because they instantly hurt you once they come into contact with your skin, but rather because they hurt you over time. For instance, most soaps contain parabens, which are chemical preservatives that have been linked to cancer. It is also known that most beauticians have higher rates of cancer than the general population because of their heavy use of cosmetics. So to answer your question, yes-- it is healthy not to wash your hands with soap unless it is completely necessary! Is it unhealthy to wash hands with only water and no soap?
Look soap helps but if the water is warm and you gently rub your hands under the water for at least 30 seconds it should be OK , but of course using soap would be better .

PS- The rubbing motion is what kills the germs , not the soap.

Also there have been studies suggesting that anti-bacterial soap does more harm than good by killing good and bad bacteria. Is it unhealthy to wash hands with only water and no soap?
Soap helps release dirt, including bacteria, from your skin. or hands. So use soap whenever available for washing your hands.
Depends on what you were doing before washing your hands. Touching raw meat, using household cleaners, I would say to use soap...
as long as you don't shake hands with me, i really don't care if you wash them or not
its not unhealthy, but soap helps remove most bacteria, when only water does not remove as much.
well yeah it's the point. The soap gets all the germs out. Trust me. I got an A+ in health at school......
Washing with water is better than not washing at all -- if soap is not handy.
how long do you think soap has been around ?how long do you think man has been around ?i think you would be ok just dirty .
Soap actually helps dissolve away the oils that may carry germs, so it's better to use soap if you can:

To get technical: ';Water alone is not able to penetrate grease or oil because they are of opposite polarity.';

Is washing your hands without soap as useless as not washing your hands at all?

I saw a girl in the restroom washing her hands without soap and then just drying them. Is that better than not washing your hands at all? Obviously washing with soap is the best.Is washing your hands without soap as useless as not washing your hands at all?
Using just water helps too, it rinses off quite a bit of the dirt. Liquid soap works better but bars of soap are a terrible breeding ground for bacteria when shared with many people; it's very rare to see bars of soap in a public restroom now since this is well-known, but if you do happen to go somewhere where they have bars, use just water instead. Is washing your hands without soap as useless as not washing your hands at all?
You answered your own question when you added your last sentence. However, let me ask you; would you rather wash your hands without soap or not at all?
Water is the best solvent so it does help a lot without soap.

Soap is really good at killing germs. The soap molecule has two ends, one pointed and the other round. One side is water loving, hydrophilic and the other side hates water hydrophobic. The water vibrates the water loving side and the other sides sticks to the outside of the germ. Eventually tearing it to pieces. They cannot evolve against soap.
No, if you rub your hand together under the water, then your hands will be pretty clean. Some soaps only leave a residue that smells good and your hands are actually 'dirtier' than if you'd just used water.
I suspect there is not much difference

I always use soap and I hate it when it's over
Soap is important but when you wash hands with soap what really kills the bacteria is the friction you use when rubbing your hands together.
It has to be better than nothing, but soap is the way to go.
Well, washing with just hot water gets rid of physical contaminats, such as solid poo and food gunk on your hands. But to really get them clean you need an antibactieral soap and hot water (as hot as you can stand).

Also you should wash your hands while singing the ';Birthday Song';. At least thats what I learned in my Food Safety Class.
Soap breaks up the oils that bond dirt to your hands. Water and thorough rubbing IS better than nothing.
No
While washing with soap is certainly better, not using soap, but still wetting the hands is better than nothing at all. I base this on the fact that water tends to dilute things. Just like some people rub there hands against a paper towel to wipe off there hands, water can tend to wipe away some germs.

Also, now more and more we hear of super germs, which are being created by the overuse of antibacterial soaps, so who knows, maybe she will be less susceptible.
No, it's better than not washing at all.
well , you got alot of conflicting answers on this one, now is the truth, washing your hands without soap, is better then nothing, soap will kill 99% more germs and you will be cleaner, but even still, the water will wash off alot of germs by itself.answer is they both work, but one is better then the other
i definetely agree with you that the best way to wash your hands is with a soap.. but incase you dont have it, try to have a sanitizer or alcohol...
I have to agree with you. Everyone should wash their hands with soap. I've read that you should use soap and lather it on your hand until you finish singing 'happy birthday' song. Some people don't even wash their hands. How nasty! =)
she might as well have not washed them at all. Water doesn't do anything.

The way soap worls is the germs get caught in the lather/bubbles and slide off. they don't slide off with water.
its better than nothing, but will not kill the bacteria... so almost useless.
yep!!! u should wash your hands with soap every time or use hand sanitizer like purell it kills 99.99% of germs but is useless when u have dirt on them.
why you need japanese to teach you to wash your Axxxe?
Well, it is certainly less helpful, but bacteria, germs, and wayward pee do get washed off with just water.
Water is better than nothing. :)
atleast soap kills bacteria!

Toddlers like to explore things and learn about the world with their mouths. Don't worry it's normal to child development but obviously watch them extremely carefully to make sure they do not put anything in their mouth that they can choke on.2 1/2 yr. old is licking her arms, hands, soap, metal pole, craves frozen baby teether, ice - why?
Kids do weird things. I wouldn't worry about it. LOL.2 1/2 yr. old is licking her arms, hands, soap, metal pole, craves frozen baby teether, ice - why?
she's learning what everything tastes like. she's 2 1/2, she's going to do these things. as long as she's not wanting to taste all the cleaning supplies or other harmful things , not a problem.

children learn differently and want to learn everything all at once (and DO).

when i was this age my brother introduced me to 9v battery. (i already ate raw onions, lemons, garlic, chili peppers. i had a rock gut.)

no need to stop it unless it becomes harmful, really. remember, the more you try to stop it, the more she might do it. (you know, that attention thing. some is better than none)

read (a book) about indigo children. don't remember the name or by whom, but the subject should get you somewhere. i found it insightful.
She is teething!!!!!
Some small children have a condition called pica - they'll put things in their mouth to balance some kind of deficiency in the body, for iron, for example. Look it up.

It can also be that the child is teething, and is feeling an urge to chew on things to help the teeth.

Psychologists would note that the child is in the oral stage of development, and is seeking input from stimuli via the mouth, the part of the body he/she first used for interaction with thr enviroment.

It could also be that the child is just curious and as to putting random things in it's mouth, two words. Why not.
http://www.xmeta.com/web/1202437/health/鈥?/a>
Sounds totally normal. She's only had her taste buds for two and a half years. She's curious. Plus, things taste different when your younger. She could be attracted to the funny, salty, cold, soapy tastes.
She may be teething, or she may have some kind of dietary deficiency (vitamin or mineral). Ask your doctor.
Ask a pediatrician.
sounds like she has a eating disorder called PICA.people with this eat all sorts of weird stuff.they have a web site that has a good amount of info.just type in PICA.with your search engine.if you don't have one that you use try GOOGLE search engine.after GOOGLE appears click on web.you should know how.but you need to correct her from eating stuff if she is, it can be deadly.a lot of reasons people eat crazy things is being low on iron and the body starts craving for something else they are not getting in their diet.I've read people eating clay from river beds, cigarette ashes etc.
SHE'S JUST CURIOUS

Why are so many Indian people don't wash their hands with soap before having meals ?

IF YOU ARE IN A DESERT AND NEED TO TAKE FOOD YOU NEED TO WASH HAND

iF THERE IS NO WATER NO SOAP BUT FOOD IS AVAILABLE YOU WILL STILL EAT FOOD WITHOUT WASHING

BY HABIT MOST OF THE INDIANS WASH THEIR HANDS, THROW A LITTLE WATER AROUND THE PLATE OR LEAF IN WHICH THEY HAVE THEIR FOOD TO AVOID ANTS ENTERING THEIR EATING PLATE, AND LEAVE A MORSEL OF FOOD FOR ANIMALS (PARTICULARLY TO A DOG), PRAY GOD AS AN ACT OF GRATITUDE FOR WHAT HE HAS GIVEN ME AND EAT THE FOOD WITH RESPECT AND LOVE AS ';FOOD IS THE OTHER FORM OF GOD'; AND FINALLY WASHES HIS HANDS.

WASHING WITH SOAP IS NOT NECESSARY AS WE KEEP OUR BODY, HANDS AND HOMES TIDY LIKE THE HOME OF GOD. MOST OF THE PEOPLE WONT WEAR ANY FOOTWEAR WHILE INSIDE THE HOUSE. SOAP SOME TIMES MAY BE LEFT AS RESIDUE IN THE HANDS AND MAY CAUSE HARM TO OUR BODY.

GENERAL HEALTH OF AN AVERAGE INDIAN IS SO GOOD THAT EVEN A BACTERIA OR TWO CANNOT DO HIM ANY PROBLEM. INDIAN FOOD IS TASTY AND ALSO HAS GOT ALL THE MEDICINAL VALUES REQUIRED FOR DAY TO DAY SURVIVAL, IN SMALL DOSES.

ONE HAS TO LIVE IN INDIA TO UNDERSTAND HER WELLWhy are so many Indian people don't wash their hands with soap before having meals ?
Cultural difference. Soap was previously a luxury item. Most of the older generation has grown up w/ the idea that if they use plain water it is enough, after all it removes the bad stuff that you can see. So elders have not passed on the ';need to lather'; lesson. For the most part the younger generation is much less lax about properly washing their hands and teaching their children to wash with soap as well. Change takes time. Why are so many Indian people don't wash their hands with soap before having meals ?
The original custom in India for thousands of years was to eat using ones hands. This helps aid digestion as it does not stop the flow of positive energy in the body which a plastic or metal utensil would do. Most Indian people I Have been with and stayed with over the years always wash their hands before and after eating. It is considered very unclean not to do so. They do not use soap because the odour that the soup gives to the hands and also the soap gets into the pours of the skin and may come out during eating and taint the food. Most soaps are made with animal fats ( sodium tallowate) and many Indian people who are strict in their religious beliefs do not like to use anything that contains animal at all. I will leave it there. More could be said. Take care. GOURANGA GOURANGA GOURANGA
Because we are thinking that we are changing with modern world.

Today I were in the restaurant and I went to wash my hand before having my meal. Everyone was looking at me...

Brother and sister I am Muslim and washing hand before eating is mandatory for us because our Prophet used to wash his hand every time before having a meal.

by the way Islam is 1400 years old.
It might be because, they think their hands are properly washed and is free from germs, without using a soap.

If someone, who is very concerned of health will wash his/her hand with soap, irrespective of the citizenship
It is Indian practice to wash hands before and after meals. It is only in the west that people dont wash their hands even after shitting let alone meals.
Because Indians won't stir any dirty, contageous and poisonous things with their hands as others do.
They were so lazy thats all.

I don't care what the FDA says, I wash fruits and vegetables with dishwashing liquid and a vegetable brush, I rinse them carefully of course because I believe that liquid detergent residue and that kind of stuff are not good for us. At least in Mexico this is a must because although they deny it, many fruits and vegetables are irrigated with wastewater, so you have to really wash and disinfect them thoroughly, even if you are going to cook them.

As to hands, well I wash them constantly, and my kids are taught to do the same, especially before eating or preparing food and after going to the bathroom. Why does the health department tell us to wash germs off our hands with warm/hot water and soap, but the FDA t
Some of the ingredients in soap could be toxic if ingested, so you don't want the residue on your food.
Because the Health Dept. and the FDA have no relationship to each other. What do you want to do? Wash your fruits and veggies in hot soapy water?
most veggies are coated with either pesticides or wax. If you use cold water to wash them, then you should also be scrubbing them with a vegetable brush to get the top layers of all of that stuff off. soap and water is still best for your hands. You're best bet with veggies is too go organic. It's not just for hippies anymore!
If you can see germs on your hands you must have dam good eye sight that's all I can say. or very strong glasses. Hope this has helped.

What is the best kind of soap to use to get the cigarette smell off of my hands?

Whoa that top contributer totally ripped you a new one. Okay AS a smoker myself, try lava soap...it's got pummice in it so it kinda scrubs you down a bit more that normal soap.

Also, not to be judgemental, you could smoke some higher class cigs. I smoke camels (have for 8 years) and I have no stinky hand problems.

Moreover...double check your posture when you smoke. Make sure that the smoke isn't directly hitting your hand too much when your puffin away. What is the best kind of soap to use to get the cigarette smell off of my hands?
There really is nothing that will take it off as it gets into your skin and under your fingernails etc. Knowing what it does to your hands now imagine what your mouth and breath are like. Remember kissing a smoker is like licking an ashtray. What is the best kind of soap to use to get the cigarette smell off of my hands?
Believe me it works, use dish wash liquid. you wont go wrong, try it now.
I jut quit after 19 years (when you're ready, get The EasyWay to Quit Smoking, by Allen Carr). That said, I used to always use vanilla scented soap, and kept plenty of mouthwash handy. I think it helped with the stink some. Also, try not to smoke in your car - the smoke doesn't circulate right and gets ll over your hands and clothes.
How about clorox??? Or soak your hands in baking soda..... Not much takes the stench of smoke out!!!!
You should use an all-natural soap with coffee in it. That's what fishermen and hunters use to get rid of bad odors.

    Good luck!

If I wash my hands with an antibactieral soap is it safe to put my hands in my fish-tank .?

Yes. Just make sure you rinse thoroughly and dry your hands before placing them in your tank. It's NOT OK to use instant hand sanitizer without washing it off before putting your hands in your tank.If I wash my hands with an antibactieral soap is it safe to put my hands in my fish-tank .?
It doesn't matter what kind of soap you use; the important thing is to rinse your hands very, very thoroughly with plain fresh water.

Even small amounts of any kind of soap can kill your fish.If I wash my hands with an antibactieral soap is it safe to put my hands in my fish-tank .?
If I were you, I would wash my hands with antibacterial soap and rinse them for a few minutes just to make sure there's no soap residue on your hands. Good luck and take care of those fish! ;)
as along as you rinse your hand thoroughly and you took off all the soap if you dont then your fish could die
I think your best off washing with JUST water before you put your hands in.

Usually. And I like to smell the soap too. I think it all started when we had some really good smelling soap, but now I do it without thinking.Yeah, I'm a freak.
nope. water then soap then water again.
I like to put soap on my hands after so that I don't get the soap bottle dirty from the germs.

...so what if I'm a touch nuts?
yes, why, is that bad lol

if your talking about a bar of soap then no

    Nope, that is illegal.

Can you get ringworm from washing your hands too much with anti-bacterial soap?

No. Ringworm is a parisite it has nothing to do with anti-bacterial soap. Can you get ringworm from washing your hands too much with anti-bacterial soap?
The problem with anti-bacterial soap is that if you use it too much, you start to lose your immunity to those bacteria, which can make you more susceptible to other infections. This is the same reason why douching your vagina makes you more likely to get a yeast infection. Can you get ringworm from washing your hands too much with anti-bacterial soap?
Ringworm is a fungal infection, so no. However you could get eczema and dry sore skin from overwashing. After washing make sure you dry properly as fungi do like warm, moist places.
    no, not a all

Yes..Wash my hand's first than get the cleanser and wash my face.and use a face towel clean everytime..and around the eye's a silk pillow case..and sleep in silk bedding to..It make's your skin softer.Do u wash ur hands with soap and water before u wash ur face or both or just after u washe dur face?
I wash my hands, with soap and water, then I wash my face.Do u wash ur hands with soap and water before u wash ur face or both or just after u washe dur face?
If my hands are dirty, I wash them because i'm paranoid that the dirt will clog my pores. My hands are always washed, just not always with soap.
    BOTH :D
I don't think it matters. I go to the dermatologist alot, and he's never mentioned it.
I take a shower. peace son
You can do either, but I would wash before, just to keep my face clean. Hands are dirty, you know!
I wash my hands with soap and waster, then I wash my face with face soap and then I wash my hands again with soap and water, and then I put lotion on my face and hands.
stick your face in the mud and smear it around. Then wash your hands. Leave the dirt on your face to dry and crack and fall off later.
I wash my hands first, then my face.
I wash my hands before I wash my face, because hands have germs all over them, and oils that make your face break out. I always wash them with soap, then rinse and dry. Then I wash my face thoroughly.
I would wash my hands first so then your face wouldn't get all the dirt, germs, bacteria, etc from your dirty hands onto your face.

What do I do when I have to go to poop but after I'm done there is no soap to wash my hands with?

Umm...ok, TMI, but whatever (you could have just said 'use the bathroom' or something).

Anyway, use the hottest water you can stand and scrub, scrub, scrub. What do I do when I have to go to poop but after I'm done there is no soap to wash my hands with?
well, playing on the computer wasn't so good there. What do I do when I have to go to poop but after I'm done there is no soap to wash my hands with?
hot water and i wouldn't eat anything and if you have baby wipes use them and stay a way from me
Wash with water then use hand sanitizer after you dry your hands. Or go to another bathroom and hope that it has soap. Or go ask for some soap if you're in a public place.
rub alcohol on them to kill the germs so your dont spread e-coli everywhere.... yea thats where e-coli comes from... ur poo.... and soak them in hot water or use shampoo or dish soap....
Is there any other kind of soap or alcohol, shampoo, dish detergent...? If still unable to find anything, I would wash well with very warm water, and wash with soap asap.
use very hot water .... then go to the store
I'd say just clean up the best you can with water.
wash them with scalding hot water

u dont want to be named poopy hands do you???

    happy holidays
Stick your hands in some water and spit on your hands and hop for the best good luck buddy.
Rubbing your hands with hot water would be a lot better than doing nothing. Just make sure you DO wash with soap somewhere at least once before you eat anything.

Or before you shake my hand.

Can I wash the blood of 3,334 innocent and deserving servicemen off my hands with soap?

Or do I need something stronger?

    ';As the military scrambles to pour more soldiers into Iraq, a unit of the Army's 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Benning, Ga., is deploying troops with serious injuries and other medical problems, including GIs who doctors have said are medically unfit for battle. Some are too injured to wear their body armor, according to medical records.';

--- http://www.salon.com/news/2007/03/11/for鈥?/a>Can I wash the blood of 3,334 innocent and deserving servicemen off my hands with soap?
Ain't that much soap in all the world, Shrub! Can I wash the blood of 3,334 innocent and deserving servicemen off my hands with soap?
    Just grow up.
Who are you trying to be, Saddam Hussein?

Because, if the blood of those servicemen should fall on someone's hands, it should definitely be his.
I'm sure there's truth to this story, however your source is an extremely liberal website who is going to spin it to sound horrendous.

How many of those injuries are war related? Where are these stats coming from? You have to take all this info w/a grain of salt and understand it's got it's liberal spin on it.

Are you in the military? Probably not. If you were, you'd know that most soldiers do not WANT a profile on their records. You'd also know that a soldier who is unfit will be medically discharged at a mere % of what they're making - this is NOT a good thing, especially if you are career military.

I'm sure there are soldiers being re-deployed who probably shouldn't be. Just as there are factory workers who shouldn't be working, airline pilots who shouldn't be flying, police officers who shouldn't be carrying guns... you name it.

War IS terrible. It's ugly, nasty and unfair. But thanks to our soldiers who CHOOSE to be in the military, YOUR complaining self doesnt' have to go.
If the democrats succeed in letting us lose the war, they will be responsible for the blood of the soldiers' lives lost.

Because at that point the war will have been in vain.
most of those would not be dead if the liberals would not have been supporting the enemy. liberals should not wash the blood off.
And you're using salon dot com as your validation? Salons been counting the deaths since death number one!

I would answer your question with you really need something stronger to wash the blood off yours,Lord Harry and Pelosi's hands.....Hope you feel proud of yourself for accomplishing the same as in Viet Nam...or...did those 3 million + that died after we pulled out, escape your memory?
It is war. They can still be used in Iraq. There are desk jobs there. They may need to throw on their body armor every once in awhile, but they should be fine. The gains outweigh the risks.

This may sound harsh, but War isn't nice.
Servicemen are not innocent. They are soldiers. Their #1 job is to kill.

When Americans start calling soldiers ';innocent'; then that is the beginning of the end.

If a soldier is innocent, who isn't?
Maybe YOU should enlist and let one of those guys recover. Let me guess, you're flat-footed? :)
You probably blew every one of them just like Monica.
    Can you?
Are they really sending unfit and wounded soldiers back into battle?

and I thought Rumsfeld was a disaster
you arent suppose to clean it off,,,,,you simply wipe it off using countless thousands of dollar bills.....and its fun too!

If I masturbate and *** on my hands, then wash my hands thoroughly with soap and water?

and then four to five hours later finger my girlfriend, is it possible that sperm residue can get my girlfriend pregnant? What if she's on her period ?If I masturbate and *** on my hands, then wash my hands thoroughly with soap and water?
Please use condoms when the time comes.... no she wont get pregnant -- if you masturbate then finger her (right away)-- it's possible.. regardless if shes on her period or not.If I masturbate and *** on my hands, then wash my hands thoroughly with soap and water?
I started out to make the most ridiculous question I could think up, just to see the response. The joke's on me because of all the thoughtful, courteous, interesting and mostly non-judgemental answers I got. Thanks to all of you and especially DMD3 who was on the same page as me. Report Abuse

Offcourse not.Its impossible, trust me I'm a doctor
No, she can't get pregnant. You sound WAY too young and inexperienced for a sexual relationship.
Wash your hands thoroughly, dry them, then wash again and dry them with a different towel. Make sure you wash for at least one full minute each time. Then you'll be ok. Sperm residue doesn't live very long.

It is possible but unlikely that your girlfriend would get pregnant while on her period.
If you ask her to lick your fingers first before you touch her it would greatly reduce the risk.
good question. interesting and im curious to see the answers ppl put
Well, nothing is impossible. However, if you wash your hand thoroughly, and it is four to five hours later, it would be highly unlikely that she would become pregnant.

Sperm cells make up only about 3 percent of the volume of the semen, and cannot live for very long outside the body.

So if you wash your hands throroughly, it is virtually 100 percent that she will not get pregnant from any sperm lingering on your fingers.

Now if you and your partner are engaged in mutual masturbation, etc., and sperm get all over either partners hand, then it would be much more possible for sperm cells on the hand to be deposited if inserted into the vagina.

No. Once a question was asked that if a guy stands up over a girl and masturbates and shoots the sperm into her vegina, could he actually get her pregnant WHILE STILL REMAINING A VIRGIN! The answer was that his sperm would die on the way down. But imagine that though, getting someone pregnant and yet keeping your virginianty.
Nope. sperm dies very quickly outside the body and odds are you got it all off when you washes your hands anyway. It's less likely that she can get pregnant (if you are having sex) during her period but be careful because its not impossible.
I'd wash my hands thoroughly again with soap and water after all that activity if I were you!!! And the answer to the question is a resounding No btw!!!

Hi, I was just wondering which method of sanitization between purell and soap is more effective! Ten points for best answer! Thanks!Soap vs. Purell? Which is more effective for sanitizing hands?
they are about the same, but purrell is actually a little more effective,if the hands are not soiled(wet) and you must rub your hands together until your hands are dry.

handwashing is for if your hands are soiled(wet) has something on them, and is almost as effective as purrell

Do you wet your hands before you put soap on them?

I am a senior now, but what sticks in my mind regarding my childhood, are the ridiculous accusations by my father towards silly things.

Only one spoon of sugar not two.

There was only one way to slice bread, his way.

Children were not to be heard during the day, because he slept all day and worked at night.

We had to go to Church, but he didn't have to.

All these things gave me valuable lessons in how NOT to treat my children. They also gave me valuable insight into life and how to be happy and unhappy.

With your Mum I feel you should give her the benefit of the doubt. Something could be wrong, she could not be feeling well, or something has rattled her and made her frustrated. It is worth asking her nicely, if there is anything you can do to help. Even so, this episode is not worth wasting more time on it. These little tiny things in life are nothing compared to what others are having to deal with all over the world, cruelty, starvation, no homes and no bars of soaps to wash hands.

We do not realize how blessed we are when we have family, home and clothes on our backs.
My mom is mad at me because I haven't used soap in years. She keeps buying different kinds for me to experiment with, hoping I will find one I am comfortable with.

I wish she'd just get off my back sometimes. When I am ready, I'll do it on my own.

    J / K

It's stressful being a Mom, and a lot of responsibility. What she is upset about probably has nothing to do with the soap. Go ahead and apologize for using the wrong soap, and ask her if she needs someone to talk to.

The whole incidence will probably be forgotten soon... if it isn't already.

Take it easy %26amp; stay smiling.
Obviously since you are playing innocent, you know exactly what you did wrong. My guess is that you used a soap that is special to her with no regard to that fact. You aren't fooling anyone by looking for sympathy here. You owe your mom an apology.
    did you use a posion soap she is trying to kill your dad with lol just kidding. ask your parents this in a nice easy tone: ';in the big scheme of life does it really matter which soap i wased my hands with mom and dad, or more imortant that I washed them?';
Odd. Maybe she had had a bad day, and that small incident was the last straw. Talk to her about it, and see what's wrong. If she's not inclined to tell you, just let her be.
Was it the pink and blue soaps that are shaped like ducks sitting in a bowl by the sink? Those are for show and not hand washing. I know. I don't get it either...
Has she told you 7000000 times not to use the soap that you did????

If not she is probably just in a bad mood cuz of something that has happened earlier.....

She will get over it just give it time....
She is a basket case! But I guess we all know what she is getting for Christmas this year don't we? Just make sure you buy the right one though!

  • Do u wet cloth warm open poors then use hands to massage soap on face then?

play so let me get thiss straight

do u first apply flannel to face then use ur hands and massage the soap on ur face for 40 seconds then rinse then apply cold flannel to face 3 timesDo u wet cloth warm open poors then use hands to massage soap on face then?
You don't have to use a washcloth at all, if you don't want to. It does help exfoliate (remove dead skin cells and so on), but it's also a breeding ground for bacteria. Be sure to change your washcloth at least 2x per week if you decide to use one.

I wash my hands, first off. No use in adding other grime to my face when I'm trying to get it clean! Then I splash my face with warm water, apply cleanser, and wash gently all over with circular motion. Then I rinse my face with cool water, and blot dry with a clean towel. I use witch hazel and a cotton pad to get anything else off, and I follow with a light moisturizer, or some Bio-oil.Do u wet cloth warm open poors then use hands to massage soap on face then?
a good way to open up pores is by filling a bowl with boiling hot water grabbing a towel putting you head above the bowl and the towel over you head your pores will open right up.

When washing hands in the sink, should soap be applied first then rinse off, or rinse, soap, then rinse off?

If it is liquid soap, the order of application logically does not matter. If, however, it is bar soap, wetting the hands would make applying the soap a hell of a lot easier. When washing hands in the sink, should soap be applied first then rinse off, or rinse, soap, then rinse off?
Wet your hands first, then apply an antibacterial soap. Suds up and scrub all areas of the hands and fingers taking care not to forget between the fingers and under and around the nails. Use a Nail brush and an Orange-wood stick to clean under nails. Rinse with your fingertips pointing east and west so the dirty water does not run up into your sleeves. Take a paper towel and dry thoroughly. Then take another paper towel (dry) to turn off the faucet. Finally use one last dry paper towel to open the bathroom door and discard it as you leave. he whole process should take about 30 seconds. When washing hands in the sink, should soap be applied first then rinse off, or rinse, soap, then rinse off?
    Rinse, Soap, Rinse.

This allows you to get a good foam going, without having to run your hands under the water WITH the soap on your hand until you're ready to rinse.

Plus, if you're using bar soap, it's nearly impossible to clean without a pre-rinse.

Also, the pre-rinse kinda gets some junk off itself, making the soap stage a little more easy.

(Foam is good...it gets soap over a larger area of skin...surgeons get foamy when they scrub up before surgery).
Wet your hands and then apply soap... scrub for 30 seconds and then rinse.

Soap is an emulcifying agent that makes water wetter.

Without water soap is not any good. Soap makes water do it's job better.

    2 rinse hands

    3 apply soap and lather

Thats all there is too it!
If you cut your hands off you can save a bundle on both soap and water.

I always rinse my hands under the water first before using the soap.

Is soap REALLY sanitary after lots of people with dirty hands touch it?

If you think about it.... aren't there germs all over it that you're spreading on your hands? Is soap REALLY sanitary after lots of people with dirty hands touch it?
Toilet soap out of the wrapper is clean, but not sanitary. Soap will assist water in penetrating dirt and emulsifying skin oils. Some soaps have chemicals added for anti bacterial properties, but they usually will not do damage to all bacteria. Soap will get hands clean and thereby reduce the amount of germs, and other detritus on the skin.

For the dishes we use Fairy Liquid anti bacteria,Do you use antibacterial soap at home for hands?and dishes?what brand please?
    Hi

Just let me get on to my soap box for a minute!!

Seven years ago, only a few dozen products containing antibacterial agents were being marketed for the home. Now more than 700 are available. We are being bombarded with ads for cleansers, soaps, toothbrushes, dishwashing detergents, and hand lotions, all containing antibacterial agents to kill off the “Superbugs” Germs have become the buzzword for a danger people want to eliminate from their surroundings. In response to these messages, we are buying antibacterial products because we think these offer health protection for our families. Among the newer products in the antibacterial craze are antibacterial window cleaner and antibacterial chopsticks. Antibacterial agents are now in plastic food storage containers in England. In Italy, antibacterial products are touted in public laundries. In America you can purchase a mattress completely impregnated with an antibacterial agent (so they will be here soon!). Whole bathrooms and bedrooms can be outfitted with products containing triclosan (a common antibacterial agent), including pillows, sheets, towels, and slippers. Antibacterial soaps are not only easier to locate than they were just a few years ago, in some cases, they are difficult to avoid. It's almost impossible to find non-antibacterial products in today's supermarkets and shops. Over 70 percent of the liquid soap you can buy now is labeled antibacterial.

While those selling the stuff would like us to believe that these products will reduce our chances of getting sick, whether or not that is the case is still in question. One test was carried out recently where chosen households were randomly assigned to use cleaning, laundry and hand washing products that contained antibacterial ingredients, or identical-looking products that did not have antibacterial ingredients.... At the end of 48 weeks, there was essentially no difference between the two groups in the seven infectious disease symptoms surveyed, including runny nose, cough, sore throat, vomiting and diarrhea. Doctors are particularly concerned that antibacterial soaps could be contributing to the growing problem of drug resistant bacteria. This may be because it is killing the weakest bacteria, leaving the tougher, hard-to-kill strains dominant. Overuse of antibiotics has led to the emergence of new bacterial strains that are largely untreatable because they are resistant to existing drugs.

The simple solution then is not to use antibacterial cleaners as a substitute for slapdash hand washing. Thorough washing in the cracks and crevices of the hand with natural soap will do a far better job!

Ps I still use fairy liquid for my dishes!!Do you use antibacterial soap at home for hands?and dishes?what brand please?
Use what you like. All hand soaps are ';antibacterial';. The trick is to rub it into a lather and rinse with very WARM water. The soap loosens the germs and bacteria, the warm water rinses them off the skin. Using the ';antibacterial'; type soaps all the time will just make some germs and bacteria immune to it's effectiveness.
If you read the bottle of dish soap, it is anti bacterial only if used as a hand soap. I put a bit of bleach in my dish water.
strangely, we use softsoap handsoap (the kind that sqirts) on everything...dishes, hands, and even hair when we're out of shampoo...if u don't have much money, it works ;)

Why must you use both soap and water to wash oil from your hands?

plz help me i hate chem. Why must you use both soap and water to wash oil from your hands?
That's because water and oil do not mix because water is hydrophillic and oil is hydrophobic. Soaps contains both hydrophillic and hydrophobic molecules.

So when your wash your hands without soap, the oil and water do not mix and the oil is not washed away.

So when you wash your hands with soap the soap sticks to the water and the oil sticks to the soap.

  • Why do some people not use soap and only water when washing their hands?

It really annoys me when I see people do it and I think it is really dirty. It can't wash all the dirt away and they are only doing it to be seen to be washing their hands. Yuck! Why do some people not use soap and only water when washing their hands?
soap dries your skin out. A lot of people have a high sensitivity to products used within the soap industry. If you have a skin problem to begin with soap can sometimes make it worse. However there are soap free products available as an alternative - just not in public toilets. Why do some people not use soap and only water when washing their hands?
I can't speak for everyone else but I wash my hands a couple of times every hour, if I use soap every time then my skin dries up and my skin cracks open and starts to bleed. I'm also allergic to some soaps and I don't take chances when I don't recognize the brand. In my case it's more hygienic to not use soap every time since infected wounds carry more bacteria, even when washed with soap, than whole skin washed with water. There are times when soap is a have to such as after visiting the bathroom and before handling food. But you didn't specify that ...
I think its just laziness, especially in shopping centre toilets etc, they are all too much in a hurry to get back to the shopping, and there are usually endless queues in places like that as well.
I agree with you, even emolient is better than nothing.

Can i use dish soap to wash my hands?

Sure I do all the time. :)Can i use dish soap to wash my hands?
Absolutely! As a matter of fact, I keep dishwashing liquid in a pump dispenser by my sink. That way I can use it to wash my hands or to put on a washrag or dish when I need just a bit for a quick wash. I still have the big bottle under the sink for the big jobs. Can i use dish soap to wash my hands?
You can occasionally, it's great for getting out oils, etc. However, it can dry your hands out and shouldn't get on certain fabrics or left on your skin for long, so it's better to use soap meant for skin most of the time.
Sure, but it is drying. It is a good way to save a dime, or now a days a dollar. Especially with all the great scents out there, buy in bulk, refill small hand pumps! Use hand lotion at the end of the day, during the day if you have time, keep some by the soap.
You can but they are really tough and make the hands dry. You might want to use a moisturizer when you are done.
Sure, but it's pretty concentrated (rinse well or dilute it greatly to start with) and the pH is pretty high, which is tough on your skin.
I do this all the time I run out of hand soap i use dish soap it can harm nutting, just put some lotion on after so they don't dry out!!
I do it all the time especially when I am doing something in the kitchen.
I do it all the time. AND I have sensitive skin on my hands. It never irritates me.
I do. but watch out for the dishsoap w/ bleach. it'll dry your hands...
    yes,,of course,,,and apply cream afterwards,,or,you will get dry hands..mary.c.
yes i do but not all the time unless u use a good lotion..if ur a girl if ur a guy who cares
I do it all the time too....
I do it all the time
better to use dish soap than no soap at all
    Yeah
    Yes
    yea...its soap!
    sure why not.

Wash hands with soap and water dry them with towel, then wash face..is that right?

I just usually wash my hands then wash my face and then dry them both.Wash hands with soap and water dry them with towel, then wash face..is that right?
I wash my hands, then face then hands agen then dry hehe xWash hands with soap and water dry them with towel, then wash face..is that right?
I wash my hands , rinse them then wash my face and dry both afterwards.
You should wash your face first then wash your hands and dry both your face and hands with a towel.
there is no point drying your hands after washing them, then washing your face.

just wash hands, then wash face, then dry.
No, face first, then hands, especially if you are going to be handling food.
    yep

What is the best soap to wash hands with prior to handling contact lenses?

i have read that soap with fragrence and other additives make lenses wear out prematurelyWhat is the best soap to wash hands with prior to handling contact lenses?
It is recommended that you use an additive free bar soap, such as Ivory (99.4% pure, per advertisement). You want to avoid soaps with antibacterials, lotions or perfumes. Avoid liquid soap. The reason to avoid these is not due to damage to the contact lenses but in order to prevent eye infections and irritation. After washing, dry your hands completely. (I'm an R.N.)

What's up with foam hand soaps?

I see them everywhere these foamy hand soaps. What's up with foam hand soaps?
they are more costly than bar or liquids. they are more fun too. they are the fantasy of some advertising genius, and totally worthless.

My hands are always dry and itchy.I had eczema in my hands due to allergy to laundary soaps.?

(At the moment I've no eczema.) I feel like applying some cream or oil but I find it a nuisance because no proper work - like sewing ,washing ,typing, cooking etc. etc. can be done ! - by the way I like to be active. What is the remedy for this l dryness? My hands are always dry and itchy.I had eczema in my hands due to allergy to laundary soaps.?
    Hello

I live in Switzerland and in the cold season experience the same problem.

    My overnight remedy:

    1. Apply olive oil first

    2. Then apply lots and lots (the hand must be white of all the creme) of rich cream containing oil and re-hydrating elements

    3. Put on a cotton glove

Your hands will be soft and smooth when you wake up. If required do this during the day for an hour or so.

Like this your hands will not be greasy and you can still do your work.

Good Luck.My hands are always dry and itchy.I had eczema in my hands due to allergy to laundary soaps.?
the best moisturizer is Vaseline (aka Petroleum Jelly) Put it on after you wash and dry your hands. It will lock in the moisture.
hey eczema can be a *****. i used the following herbal product acne getaway 101E. i know it is majorly for acne but it works for eczema as well. it is very effective but i dont like the smell. good luck
I also have problems with dry hands, get some moisturiser, unscented, the nice smelling stuff actually contribute to the drying out. Also use a barrier cream when using detergents and the like, this will help.

Was it the water, soap, or latex affecting my hands.?

I work at a restaurant as a dishwasher and im allergic to clam chowder so I put on latex yellow gloves so i could wash pans with clam chowder on them but when i put them on my hands started burning so i immediately took them off and we came to think im allergic to latex as well as clam chowder, but it continued burining so i switched from using joy soup to crystal lite but it still burnt and by the end of my shift almost ( 8 hours) my hand were bleeding pretty much from the pores. What was hurting my hands so badly? Was it the water, soap, or latex affecting my hands.?
Many people are allergic to laytex. Someone close to me works at a dental office and has the same problem when she wears the gloves. Her hands burn and evenutally it turned into something that looked like a terrible rash and they also bled. She had to use somekind of cream i think maybe it was hydrocortizone. But you should consult your physician. It is definatly the latex. Was it the water, soap, or latex affecting my hands.?
Have you gone to the doctor? Hydrocortisone is great for skin allergies. A very high percentage of people are allergic to latex. Get another job where you don't have to be exposed to things that you are allergic to.
In my experience, once you start having a really bad reaction, your body responds poorly to everything that can be an irritant.
You may be allergic to Latex. It is very common. We don't even have latex on the ambulances anymore they had to make the gloves out of some other synthetic material. Good luck
Well it started in the gloves so probably latex, or else someone threw some anthrax in them as a joke and you're f`cked!
either your allergic to latex..or there was a hole in the gloves and the clam chowder seaped through...could be both.
    allergic reaction

How can I get rid of the odor on my hands from wearing gloves when I garden. I've tried different soaps.?

rubbing a piece of peeled ginger is great for removing even onion smells. How can I get rid of the odor on my hands from wearing gloves when I garden. I've tried different soaps.?
Lick your handsHow can I get rid of the odor on my hands from wearing gloves when I garden. I've tried different soaps.?
Lemon juice or vinegar. I prefer lemon juice just because it smells better. Also, if you coat your hands in cornstarch or baby powder before you put your gloves on it helps alot with the sweating and the odor.
try soaking them in jello pick your favorite flav. about 5--10 min at a time
I would assume that you are using rubber gloves and then have ';rubber smell';. If that's the case, switch to leather gloves. If you are wearing leather gloves, switch to rubber. If neither of those work, try getting a thin pair of all cotton gloves and then purchasing an extra large pair of either rubber or leather gloves and put the cotton gloves on and follow those up with the other pair of rubber or leather glvoes (gloves within gloves). If that doesn't work...well, just go bare-handed and use hand creme!
Try this: wet your hands with water and add a little soap. rub them up and down your kitchen faucet if it's metal (or use a metal ';garlic'; stone if you have one.) Also, get a fingernail cleaner and clean under your nails.

It's free, easy, and it's how I get rid of gardening and cooking smells.

I have nail varnish all on my hands and I have tried nail varnish remover and soap etc. How shall I get it off

this is urgent...so please reply ASAP! As soon as you see it really. It is blue nail varnish and highly visible. I need it off ery quickly. Once again it is URGENT! Thanks...xoxoI have nail varnish all on my hands and I have tried nail varnish remover and soap etc. How shall I get it off
white spirit is the only way xxI have nail varnish all on my hands and I have tried nail varnish remover and soap etc. How shall I get it off
nail polish remover SHOULD actually work

once i had nail polish on my hands and tried scrubbing them with a nail brush and soap which did nothing and i ended up having the bite the nail polish off - but it was only on a small area so that may not work for you

you should probably try nail polish remover again - try soaking your hands in it/splashing it all over your hands and leaving it for a few minutes then see what happens

if this doesnt work try something like turps or paint stripper - which might damage your skin im not sure but it will def. get the polish off your hands
Reallt soak your hands in warm to hot water and use a nail brush to srcub it off!
Keep using the nail polish remover, just scrub a little harder with the cotton pads.
pumice stone works everytime go carefully tho!
    just cut your hand off
    white spirit or turps
Keep on using the nail polish remover until all the varnish is gone. You may need a stronger brand. Some are too gentle.
use a different kind of nail varnish.

Does antibacterial soap kill STD viruses or remove them from hands? what about detergent?

Most STD's are bacterial. Which means most can be treated. Please do not try to cure an STD with soap. You need to go to the clinic and be seen. If you want to get rid of the bacteria or virus on your hands, I suggest using anti-microbial soap, and carrying a bottle of hand sanitizer around.Does antibacterial soap kill STD viruses or remove them from hands? what about detergent?
Actually, to comment on Pinwheel's response..an STD virus can last up to 4 hours outside of the body.

And Dustin has it correct.Does antibacterial soap kill STD viruses or remove them from hands? what about detergent?
No an std can not be cured with soap:)
Yes. Even the air does that- most STDs don't survive after sex.
Nope. You answered your own question. does ';antiBACTERIAL soap'; kill STD VIRUSES. It'll kill bacteria, but not viruses.

    use gloves next time,

    vinegar not treatment

hydrocortisone creams and benadryl, try ice water soak.

one site says its from capciasin, known skin irritant/ used in sports gels/ shingles, makes heat. another site, says use witch hazel,

The irritant is an oil. Slather your hands in butter or oil, rub it all over, then wash with soap again.

The oil will absorb the jalepeno oil, the soap will remove both oils.

    Next time wear gloves.

    Soap or handwash,for washing hands?

    I use handwash.Soap or handwash,for washing hands?
I like The Handwash better than The soap.Soap or handwash, for washing hands?
    I just use my tongue.
    handwash,,,,,
hand wash it is so much easier, and no messy wet soap left in the sink
At home, soap or hand-wash. In public restrooms, skip the sink and soap and rely on only the antibacterial wipes. I had constant colds all of my life. For 2 1/2 years, I carried the Wet Ones hand towelettes in my purse and the Clorox surface wipe packets in my bag for shopping carts, etc. Two weeks ago, I was unable to find the purse size in the hand wipes. I started using the public bathroom sinks. I have the first cold I have had since I faithfully used the wipes.

There are more germs on the towel dispenser in a public restroom than you could ever imagine. Most people don't wash their hands long enough and then use the towel dispenser, so even if you wash your hands well, you are getting germs from those that didn't- same with push button hand dryers. Also, after washing your hands well in a public sink, you still have to turn the water off- same thing applies- your nice clean hands are touching the handle/ knob of somone that barely got their hands wet.

I get some weird looks when I leave the ladies room without washing my hands since I use the hand wipes really well in the stall and exit the stall and restroom exit w/ a papertowel in hand. Yes, if they don't bother to provide a trash can when there are a ton of paper towels tossed by the door by others that have done the same thing- I toss mine too and use my foot to open the door.

I stocked up on wipes and will NEVER again use a public sink!

Also, NEVER pick up the Salt %26amp; Pepper shakers at a restaurant. Use the packets if available or use a paper napkin to pick them up with. ALWAYS use a Clorox type surface wipe when you grab any shopping cart. I sometimes even clean the restauant table with them. THAT gets really odd looks but it sure beats getting sick! Yep, I am a germaphobe. :)
    handwash
    hand wash
    Dove soap
    handwash all the time
    When available - handwash everytime
Handwash, cos it's softer on your hands. And handcream after, to prevent splitting nails x
    Soap, unless not possible/convenient.
Soap has more lather than handwash and doesnt leave my hands over dry!
    Handwash sensitive carex
    Whatever's nearest to hand ! ! !
    handwash whenever possible.
i use a hand wash or the gel they use in hospitals
Hand wash its easier and more hyginic . Soap {except Dove} seems to make my skin dry .
As long as it's soapy and washes is okay with me. I mostly use soap. When I buy handwash I still mostly use soap.
handwash, i cant stand bars of soap! so unhygienic, and slippery, and ugh!
hand wash as it more hygeneic as with soap u wash your hands the germs go on the soap and then the next time u use it more and more the germs build up but with handwash u just squirt and then wash and rinse no germs left

I was told that urinating on ur hands is the sames as washing them with soap? has anyone heard this?

Urine is sterile so as bad as it sounds, probably safer than the water you usually use. But I'll pass on washing my hands with urine.I was told that urinating on ur hands is the sames as washing them with soap? has anyone heard this?
i have heard that urine is good for your skin. infact eucerin creams actually contain urea. most people claim that urine is sterile, but this is only while it is in your bladder, as soon as it leaves your bladder it is no longer sterile as it will have come into contact with the bacteria on your hands. it will not clean your hands or remove any bacteria from your hands in the same way that an antibacterial soap would.I was told that urinating on ur hands is the sames as washing them with soap? has anyone heard this?
No, There are bacteria on your genitals that would pass to your hands. After the urine sits awhile it is good for degreasing things. It decomposes to ammonia. In medieval times they would use it for cleaning.
No. Urine is a waste product of your body. It contains bacteria, waste products your body doesn't need anymore like urea, uric acid, creatinine, etc. Not suitable for anything but elimination.
Washing your hands in urine will sterilize them, this is not the same as washing in soap, which also cleans your hands. If you just washed in urine your hands would not taste nice...
Urine is sterile, but so is gasoline.

No thanks, I'll stick with soap and water.
    Maybe some idiot in Turdistan
    Is plausible...but then stench--

Special soap for eczema on hands?

My 4 yr old son has had an outbreak of eczema on his hands. He has always had it on his face and no where else. I am wondering if its because he is washing his hands more than he did when he was younger. I took him to the dr because it was spreading all over his hands and itching very bad. He told me to put hydrocortizone cream on them and to give him oatmeal baths. I forgot to ask him about soaps. They wash their hands all the time at school and use germ x. Should I send a special soap to school with him?Special soap for eczema on hands?
The problem is probably the germ x. I've written several posts on this.

Since I'm a nurse I wash a lot or use alcohol based cleanser for the hands all day. My hands get red on the back, knuckles get cracked and itchy. After some personal experience these are my suggestions...

    Hydrocotizone cream and mosturizer-yes

gold bond ';healing'; lotion at least 2 x a day-yes...heals in a day or two

a and d ointment-helps some for the intense dryness

soap-nothing alcohol based or even antibacterial

Elocon-have heard this is good for the hands, can buy at walmart or

    amazon

I would send a special soap, something mild for him to take to school. I can think of bar soaps, such as dove, that would be great, but not liquid.

Hope this helps!Special soap for eczema on hands?
    try using eucerin or aquaphor

    i have eczema too
its not special but try dove it worked for me

Is tht leading to eczema, or im i reading 2 much init! The soap im using is giving me dry hands?
stop using soap it naturally removes all oil the skin needs normally,i have the same problem,i use a moisturising shower gel like sanex shower milk it comes in a yellow bottle, great for cleaning hands and keeping them moisturised. The soap im using is giving me dry hands?
it wont give you eczema, but it can dry your hands out, and if they are very dry they can feel itchy.

eczema is more like sore, broken itchy skin.

dont use normal soap, use a moisturing handwash, and use a good hand cream afterwards, i recommend Neutrogena, its brilliant.

I did get a reaction to some washing up liquid once that brought my skin up in little blisters, but i just use one designed for sensitive skin now and all is well.
Most soap is drying. Get a soap with moisturizer in it. And use hand cream.
Then use a different soap =D
    use a different soap!
    change ur soap then,

If you use antibacterial hand soaps and cleaners does it kill the ';good'; bacteria in your septic tank? ?

never thought of that . . . good question. A plumber friend of ours told us to flush a packet of bread yeast down the toilet once per month. If you use antibacterial hand soaps and cleaners does it kill the ';good'; bacteria in your septic tank? ?
It can, but try to limit the use of antibacs. The tank needs them to destroy and digest the waste. NEVER use Drano or lye in your drains. It will stay in the tank for a long long time and cause problems.

But a small amount of cleaners with bleach or antibacs will do no harm.If you use antibacterial hand soaps and cleaners does it kill the ';good'; bacteria in your septic tank? ?
They will attack them, but the 'good' ones will outnumber them.

    They have no effect.

Whats wrong with washing my hands with dishwashing soap?

other than it might dry your skin out a bit, theres nothing wrong with it.Whats wrong with washing my hands with dishwashing soap?
    It's not for your hands..

Go for a real hand soap and not dishwashing soap, that's why it is for dishes.. not only did I state the obvious, well, there are actually chemicals in there that could harm or worse, damage your skin! Why? Don't you want your hands to be as pretty as princesses'?

Plus, the dishwashing soap is just not too comfy enough and the smell tend to stay longer.Whats wrong with washing my hands with dishwashing soap?
Nothing really. Most dishwashing liquids can be drying...but some manufacturers claim that their dishwashing liquid is good for the hands. Up to you to decide whether or not you believe them.

For example, back in the 60s and 70s, there was a pretty humorous commercial for Palmolive using a perky auburn haired manicurist named Madge. She'd tell the customer, '; you're soaking in it...'; and the shocked customer would pull up her hand and exclaim ';in dishwashing liquid?'; and she's say ';relax. it's just Palmolive'; and the customer would ask if it's really mild. Madge would then say say ';more than just mild. it sofens your hands while you do the dishes...'; and then the customer of course would say she'd try it lol.

The Dove brand used to tout it was made of 1/4 moisturizing cream in its ads, too. So I suppose if someone wanted to wash their hands with dish soap they could (heck, I know folks who have washed their HAIR with it when in a pinch)...but you'd think you'd prefer to use something nicer than that.
Its too harsh and your hands will start to look harsh too. How about putting a bottle of Softsoap or something of that type by the sink. Walmart has their brand and I think its about $1. Personally, I like the antibacterial hand soap but there is speculation using that too often could create a reverse affect.
    NOTHING
errr...it can dry them out easily? ...;)
who cares as long as your washing them..just don't take a shower with it..
Nothing, clean is clean.I wish everyone would wash their hands more often....
nothing. you get it on your hands when you wash dishes anyway!

Absolutely nothing. However, some dishwashing soaps may dry out your hands.

Most liquid hand soaps dry out my skin so I don't bother with them anymore. I just use soap.
it dries your hands and it attracts bugs

    Nothing at all.

I take showers and brush my teeth with dishwashing soap.
it dries skin out extremely easily

Describe whether washing hands with dish detergent bad or is it the same effect as soap?

I have seen my grandmother do this, and it makes me curious.Describe whether washing hands with dish detergent bad or is it the same effect as soap?
I do it all the time, And nothing bad has happened to me.=)Describe whether washing hands with dish detergent bad or is it the same effect as soap?
a detergents job is to dissolve the oils and dirt off the articles it adheres to, so if you use detergent as shampoo , to foam up the bathwater or to wash your hands it will certainly do the job, however over a period of time as the oils in your skin dry up excema and other ailments will occur and you will end up being prescribed ointments , lotions and all sorts to rectify your problems. so use soap to wash your body and detergents to wash the dishes
I do this about 10 times a day. Works great to get just about anything of your hands. I trust it to get germs off my dinnerware so I figure it should do the same for my hands.
It would defiantly have the same effect. Both would clean your hands but dish detergent is more costly and thicker to get rinsed off.
Probably the same effect, I don't see how it couldn't be. But it's still hard to dry my hands after I've washed my hands with dish soap.

P.S. that is WRONG but funny!
    lol
    Yeah.
Probably, unless it was for good use as in saying a hello to a hottie.
    I'm English

    By Gad, Sir.

Over here, if we want to hitch a lift we stand on the side of the road, hold you hand up in a fist but with your thumb sticking out.

I've no idea what you Americans do - probably something completely different, because you're American.

I mean, fancy spelling ';colour'; without a ';u';.

Anyways, many years ago I was in the Middle East and was trying to bum a lift. I stuck my thumb out and three cars screeched to a halt. I thought, ';Wow! That was quick. Must be my good lucks!'; but the three drivers came over to me shouting and screaming in some funny language. Didn't have a clue what was going on till a 4th one joined in who spoke a little English.

He told me that sticking your thumb out means something completely different in their country and I was very lucky I wasn't lynched.

I never did find out exactly what it meant but after that - I walked!
    Ha! lol!
Nope, she chop off his fingers. That will fix his azz!
No, she signs an angry response telling him that was bad, and then when he goes to answer, she holds his hands tight so he cannot say anything.
Well, may be she ties them together so that he can't sign for a while. That'll teach him to sign cuss words.
Good question. Just like ';how do you handcuff a one armed man?'; I don't know. Probably not, but anything can happen and if a parent doesn't want their kid to sign profanity, I guess they can do whatever they want. It depends on if his mom wants to do it or not.
    hahahahaha......that was a good one!!!!
    you are a freak
    yes
she probally washes his hands out with soap
Rolling on the floor laughing my ******* *** off!

I dont think so. Since washing his hand wouldnt inflict pain (or a nasty taste)..I think his mother would wash his mouth out.
Q: What did Helen Keller do when she fell down the well?

    A: Screamed her hands off.
    I would hope so...That wouldn't be fair....
    Boo.. that is so old!

No, mom makes him wear mittens.
    lolz ure dumb man
Well, I guess it is like having your mouth washed out with soap if you can speak. His hands are his communication, so yes I guess his Mother would wash his hands after cussing.
first of all, how old is this deaf man? this makes a difference, but only as to whether or not he should be living with his mom.

i don't think that his mother would wash his hands with soap or any alternate punishment because nobody seems to care much today anyways whether or not their children cuss. in fact, it's kind of understood that once you reach a certain age, you can cuss like a sailor and nobody will (or should) reprimand you. i disagree, but most people don't.

    possibly, if his mother were a christian lady, she would think up some way to discourage his behavior, but i don't think it would be washing hands, seeing as people do that on a more than daily basis. maybe instead it would be ';sign the alphabet while doing push ups!';
    Uh, sure.
thats the only thing she can so, i mean he is not using his mouth. So... that means his hands are in trouble.

How can i get rid of the smell of onions off my hands....... a good liquid soap or any tips please?

try gettin a lemon, cuttin it in half, squeezin the juice out of it and then using the skin (from the inside, the fleshy part) to rub over your hands, with a little salt, that'll make your hands smooth and theyll smell of lemon..

What is the best soap for rough hands?

i am constantly washing my hands at work and they have Provon soap along with ';latex-free'; gloves but for some reason my hands look horrible and are getting worse. they are dry and have small blisters underneath the skin. i also use sanitizer too and it burns like%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;What is the best soap for rough hands?
Gojo Shop Soap with ground pumice (and a natural orange smell). Available in 160 ounce squirt dispensers. What is the best soap for rough hands?
I recommend you buy a pumice stone. I work with a lot of heated metal in my jewelery class and by the end of the week my hands are pretty rough and callused. You can use the pumice to scrape and smooth away the roughness. It really helps. Good luck!
Hmm sounds like you just need to to use some lotion! If your hands are extremely dry/chapped...I would go with a thick hand cream. Burts Bees, Neutrogena, and even Bath and Body Works make good hand creams! I'm sure you can find those products for less than $10.
