I believe hand sanitizers are alcohol based....I don't think you'd want to get any reside of the alcohol in your eyes. It would sting.
If you have no other option.....make sure your hands are thoroughly dry.Is it ok to use hand sanitizer for your hands (before you handle contacts)if there is no soap or water at hand
Healthcare workers use hand sanitizer many dozen times per day. Can't stand at the sinks all day!
